Helping our Community Through Volunteerism
Volunteering is a program that allows residents of our community to assist the Federal Way Police Department. Countless public dollars are saved though this program and it provides community members a chance to see what is happening in their community and get a better understanding of how things work in todays policing environment.
You must be 18 and should complete the Federal Way Police Departmentβs Citizen Police Academy within two years of joining. The Academy is a 10-week evening course that starts in April of every year and meets a few days a week. A background check is required. All skills are welcome.
Training & Supervision
Employees of the Federal Way Police Department will teach any and all classes needed for any type of volunteering. The coordinator of the program is Crystal Roth and it is part of the Professional Standards Unit. The position requires a successful background check and polygraph to be selected.
