PROJECT LOCATION

This project is located on various preservation properties owned by the city between South 356th Street and South 373rd Street near and around Pacific Highway South. 


PROJECT SCOPE

This project will construct a non-motorized trail system to provide citizens with recreational boardwalk access, wildlife viewing, and environmental education in the wetlands south of city center. The project will improve recreational opportunities for active hikers, families, or casual walkers with the trail loop estimated to span more than four miles. This project will feature composite decking for the boardwalk; observation decks; and interpretive signs informing visitors about the flora, fauna, & history of the area. 


PROJECT SCHEDULE

This project is in the early design & study phase and is anticipated to be constructed in 2026 - 2028.


PROJECT FUNDING

This project is funded through storm-water use fees.


PROJECT UPDATE

3/26/25:  Project still in early design & study. Currently determining through field analysis which alignment should be built first.
