PROJECT SCHEDULE

Construction is planned to wrap up by the end of 2025.

PROJECT FUNDING

The funding for this project includes American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds.

PROJECT UPDATE

April 2025 - Construction is underway for all project locations (see map above).  Pole installation, wiring, electrical inspections, and obtaining electrical service continues.  Poles are in the process of being installed.  Shoulder closures and alternating one-way traffic control in the project areas can be expected to accommodate the work.

Please note that the construction will generally consist of these phases:

  • Underground work (install conduit and prep for foundations)
    • All locations have completed underground work.  Some minor touch-up/clean-up work should be expected.
  • Concrete (pour the concrete for the foundations and other electrical infrastructure)
    • All locations have completed concrete work.
  • Poles (install the light poles)
    • Poles have been installed at all locations.
  • Wiring (install the wiring, perform an electrical inspection (electrical boxes, pole base, and aerial), and protect the wiring from theft)
    • Wiring is in progress.
  • Completion (turn on and testing lights, correction of any deficiencies)
    • Lights are starting to be energized!
  • Finishing Touches (paint pole numbers on poles, install grout pads and toe caps, minor pavement repair, etc.)
  • Final Inspection
  • Tree trimming (after the contractor has completed their work, tree trimming will be performed)

The contractor is working to be as efficient as possible, so you may see crews in your neighborhood several different times as they complete each phase of the project.  Feel free to reach out if you have questions!

Week of April 21st -

  • Wiring poles will continue.
  • King County will perform an electrical inspection on work completed.
  • Pavement restoration work was performed on SW Dash Point Road, SW 329th Way/Hoyt Road SW, and SW 314th Place (this is for the utility potholes that were dug for boring operations).
  • Minor cleanup activities may be performed at all project locations.

Week of April 28th -

  • Wiring poles will continue.
  • Electrical inspections will continue.
  • Minor cleanup activities, marking poles, grouting poles, and restoration work may be performed at all project locations.
