Federal Way’s Sister City of Donghae City, South Korea,  is experiencing the challenges of recent wild fires.

 “I offer our sincere concern and thoughts to the people of our Sister City of Donghae as they experience the aftermath of wild fires.” said Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell.  

 Over 200 buildings were involved and 130 buildings were destroyed in the 10,000 acre fire.   Approximately 20 homes were damaged which has left over 100 residents displaced.

 Residents of Federal Way and other communities may consider supporting relief and rebuilding by contributing to the efforts of the Federal Way Korean America Association.
