Call for Artists:
The City of Federal Way Environmental Services is looking for art submissions to help add color and creativity to some Garbage/Recycling containers around the City!
Applicants are invited to submit up to three conceptual renderings for consideration. They may be a sketch or a completed illustration in any media. Interested artists may submit illustrations that fit the theme of the container and the size and shape restrictions for the one identified location (see photo). The selection committee will evaluate then choose from the artwork submitted. Selected artists will be contacted to discuss the next step in getting art on the container. Final artwork will be digitized, transferred to vinyl, and installed on the garbage/recycling containers. Artists selected will be awarded $500 for their designs.
Our next location is the garbage/recycling receptacle on the North side of City Hall.
How to Apply:
Submit high-resolution artwork that will wrap the entire container (.png, .jpg, or .pdf formats are acceptable) along with completed application, focusing on the current theme of "Keep Federal Way Clean".

Art Selection:
Environmental Services, along with input from the Arts Commision, will select winning entries based on the following criteria:
- Overall strength and visual appeal of design concept.
- Relevance to project theme.
- Artistic excellence and innovation.
- Appropriateness for designated location, size, and shape.
