The Federal Way Farmers Market celebrates its 20th anniversary this year!
Recognizing this achievement, the City of Federal Way will honor the market’s co-founders – Dave Ehl, Rose Ehl, and their daughter, Karla Kolibab.
During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 17, at 6:30 p.m., Jim Ferrell will present the trio with the Mayor’s Key to the City. This gesture is a token of the City’s gratitude to the family for their two decades of hard work and dedication.
"Dave, Rose, and Karla have united our community, organized local vendors, and created a unique space in Federal Way where people can enjoy fresh flowers, produce, and family-friendly activities," Ferrell said. "The Farmers Market is a staple in Federal Way and has been a family affair and adventure."
The Mayor lauded the community-minded leaders whose dedication and hard work have made the Farmers Market a cherished and integral part of Federal Way.
"The Farmers Market is a beloved destination for the citizens of Federal Way," the Mayor said. "Despite the difficulties brought about by the global pandemic, Rose, Dave, and Karla made it happen by going above and beyond to keep the market open while taking all necessary safety measures."
Media outlets should arrive by 6:15 p.m. tomorrow at the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall.
