City of Federal Way Launches Community Survey to Improve Language Access and Services
The City of Federal Way has launched a survey to hear directly from residents who speak languages other than English. The goal is to ensure all community members can access City information and services no matter what language they speak.

Mayor Jim Ferrell and City Council Expand Senior Farmers Market Voucher Program
At the Aug. 12 Federal Way City Council meeting, Mayor Jim Ferrell and the City Council approved additional funding to expand the Federal Way Farmers Marketβs Healthy Seniors Voucher Program, increasing both the number of weekly vouchers available and the value of each voucher.
The City will contribute $2,224 from the Senior Advisory Commissionβs restricted fund and $2,000 from the Mayorβs budget to provide 60 free vouchers each week on a first-come, first-served basis. Thatβs an increase of 24 vouchers weekly.
Federal Way Community Center Activated as Cooling Center Ahead of Expected High Temperature on Aug. 12
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Western Washington through Tuesday, Aug. 12. Mayor Ferrell is proactively preparing for the dangers of the forecast, which calls for temperatures to exceed 90 degrees on Tuesday.
