Welcome to the Juneteenth Flag Raising 2024 event page! Join us on June 18th at noon at Federal Way City Hall as we commemorate this historic day, marking the end of slavery in the United States. Located at 33325 8th Ave S, Federal Way, WA 98003, our event will feature inspirational speeches, including reflections on the significance of Juneteenth, as well as a symbolic flag-raising ceremony. As Mayor Jim Ferrell states, βJuneteenth is a special day in American history. We look forward to telling the story of what happened in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865.β This free event is open to all, and we invite you to stand with us in celebration, reflection, and unity as we elevate the Juneteenth flag and continue our shared journey toward justice and equality.
