SUBMITTAL OF SEALED BIDS:
Notice is hereby given that the City of Federal Way, Washington, will receive sealed bids through January 10, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the City Hall Purchasing Office or by US Mail at City of Federal Way, Purchasing Office, 33325 8th Avenue South, Federal Way, Washington 98003. Proposals received after 10:00 a.m. on said date will not be considered.
BID OPENING:
All bids will be opened and read publicly aloud at 10:05 a.m. on January 10, 2019, at City Hall – Hylebos Conference Room (2nd Floor), 33325 8th Avenue South, Federal Way, Washington, for this RFB.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier’s or certified check, or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the City of Federal Way.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This project shall consist of: Construction of sidewalk, a Downtown Staircase, and associated pedestrian walkway ramp, illumination, landscaping, irrigation improvements, and other work for the “Downtown Staircase” to be located on 21st Ave S (S 314th St to S 316th St).
The Contractor shall complete all work within 100 working days.
The bidder is urged to check the plans and contract provisions carefully.
All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents. Any prospective Bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the Bid Documents, shall request the explanation or interpretation in writing by close of business three business days preceding the bid opening to allow a written reply to reach all prospective Bidders before the submission of their bids. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS:
The City of Federal Way reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the bid documents. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid after the hour set for the opening thereof unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days.
